VaxApp is delighted to announce we are the recipients of a 2023 GSK Immunisation Award for our VaxApp for Schools platform.
The award was presented on 20 June 2023 as part of the annual Public Health Association of Australia (PHAA) Communicable Disease & Immunisation Conference (CDIC) in Perth.
The GSK Immunisation Awards celebrate innovative programs that aim to meet one or more of the following criteria in either childhood, adolescent and/or adult vaccines:
- Improve access, coverage and/or timely delivery
- Improve access, coverage and/or timely delivery for hard-to-reach populations
- Utilise digital technology to improve the Use of Vaccines through innovation.
- Improve access, coverage and/or timely delivery for indigenous populations.
- Improve access, coverage and/or timely delivery for international travellers.
This award will support VaxApp with the ongoing development of our Schools platform.
Whilst this platform has already been highly successful and effective for our clients in harnessing digital technology to improve service delivery and vaccine uptake within the School Immunisation Program, additional improvements and added functionality will serve to increase this potential further.
Planned enhancements to digital consent distribution and promotion will further add to streamlining or eliminating manual administrative burdens for school vaccination providers (and the schools they support) and increase their capacity to focus on driving other projects such as promotion of vaccination education campaigns, tailoring support for culturally and linguistically diverse communities or targeting other at-risk groups within the community.
In addition to maximising capacity for service providers, upgrades to VaxApp’s school platform will allow for the potential delivery of additional vaccines within the school setting – these may include missed or overdue doses of funded vaccines or alternatively, other recommended non-funded vaccines including influenza or meningococcal B. This capability would provide a convenient solution for parents wishing to have their children vaccinated, however lack the time to seek these services elsewhere.
VaxApp continues to strive towards improving vaccination coverage rates by making vaccination more accessible through the use of digital technology. We are proud to receive this recognition and endorsement of support from GSK and the Public Health Association of Australia, and thank them for believing in our mission.
